Beth Orton

March 17, 2006 12:11 pm by: KUT Staff

Beth Orton merges traditional acoustic folk with electronica and trip-hop to produce the music in her head. In 1995, she teamed with the Chemical Brothers for a recording, but finally issued her ‘96 debut EP She Cries Your Name before the stunning full length debut Trailer Park later that year. Soon, Orton moved toward a more soulful, organic approach and re-emerged in 2002 with Daybreaker featuring Ryan Adams. 2006’s Comfort of Strangers was made with rock minimalist and studio wizard Jim O’Rourke.
